Release Day Review: Sunkissed Days (Magnolia Sound .5) by Samantha Chase

Now available on

Synopsis:

Mallory Westbrook is ready to make her move on Jake Summerford, the boy—now man—she’s been crushing on for years. Coming back to Magnolia Sound to celebrate her great-grandfather’s birthday provides the perfect opportunity to show Jake that she’s no longer a child.

The last thing Jake expected to do at his mentor’s birthday party was to find himself kissing Mallory under the moonlight. Though he’s known her for years, the thought of kissing her never crossed his mind. But the shy tomboy he once knew is gone, and in her place is a woman he can’t resist.

They have one summer before they go their separate ways. Insecurity wars with the possibility of a future together, but it could all come to an end before it even has a chance to start.

Review:

A quick note:  Sunkissed Days is a prequel for upcoming second chance romance Remind Me (coming March 12) so if you want to see how this couple gets their happily ever after you don't have to wait too long!

Sunkissed Days was a cute read. Mallory and Jake have known each other their whole lives, but Jake is a few years older so he never let himself see Mallory as anything more than a friend. The little girl he grew up with. Only she is not so little now and definitely all grown up. And he notices which is awesome for Mallory. She has always had a crush on him so for him to finally notice her is amazing.

These two were really sweet together, but going in they know they will either only have the summer together or have to try and do a long distance thing. They are both going off/back to school at the end of the summer on opposite sides of the country, but they are drawn to each other. It was a sweet story and I really liked these two as a couple. They worked, though the ending was a bit...I want to see what happens next! These two obviously should be together forever and I want to see that forever now. Good thing I don't have to wait too long before I get to find out how they make everything work.
