Review: Up in Flames (Flirting with Fire #2) by Jennifer Blackwood

Available on

Synopsis:

It takes one little spark for enemies to ignite into lovers in a searing-hot novel by USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Blackwood.

Sloane Garcia has butted heads with Reece Jenkins ever since he was a colossal jerk of epic proportions on a night she’d rather forget. So what if he’s overconfident, ultramasculine, and hard muscled? When she finds out he’s on the auction block at the annual firefighter’s charity event, she decides to give this cocky firefighter a dose of his own medicine. Now that she’s won the hunk, he’s on call—to do whatever Sloane wants.

Sure, Reece and Sloane had a rocky start, but he had his reasons. None of that matters now that he’s the bachelor at her beck and call, tasked with granting her four wishes in four weeks. He runs into burning buildings for a living, but nothing will be as tough as dousing the flames Sloane ignites in him. What started out as just a game might end up with Reece losing the one thing he swore he’d never give up: his heart.

Review:

Up in Flames was such a cute read. I love the whole enemies to loves storyline. Sloane and Reece were wonderful to read.

Reece has always had a thing for Sloane ever since he first saw her. But he had a girlfriend and couldn't do anything about it. He was happy with his girlfriend...until he wasn't and now he is a bit jaded. He sleeps with ladies, but never anything more. And he really messed up with Sloane one night when she was drunk and even though he didn't mean to insult her she now hates him. At least they used to be friendly, but now they can't be in the same room as each other. I loved Reece. He is a bit clumsy and is not good with his words especially around Sloane, but he was adorable and a really great guy.

Sloane was in a not so good relationship that kind of took a lot of her confidence away. She is happy now, but still a bit...unsure when it comes to men. It doesn't help that Reece obviously is repulsed by her, but seems to sleep with any other lady who comes along. It stings a little, especially since she did like him, but that is long gone. Now she can't stand him. Right? Sloane was also fun to read. She hates Reece, but not really. When she comes up with a wonderful way to get back at him things don't go the way she expects. She starts to realize that maybe she doesn't know Reece as much as she thought she did. And things start to heat up between them which she wasn't planning on at all.

I loved reading these two. How much they disliked each other, but really didn't. How Sloane tries to embarrass Reece, but how wonderful he is and does whatever she wants. These two were really sweet together and I enjoyed watching them figure everything out.
