Review:
I absolutely loved That Thing Between Eli & Gwen. Loved it! They were so cute together and perfect for each other and it was such a sweet read I couldn't put it down once I started. So much fun.
Eli thought he found the women for him. He is getting married and everything is going great. Gwen thought she found the man for her. Her fiance is successful and wants her so what more could she want? Only when Gwen goes to Eli's wedding with her fiance he interrupts the wedding to run off with the bride leaving Eli and Gwen shocked and heartbroken. Now these two obviously are upset by what happens and it is not easy to move on from that. But when they keep being thrown together they start to commiserate. To share how they are feeling and doing as they are the only people who really understand what the other is going through. They were both left by the person they thought they were going to spend the rest of their life with in a very public way. And through spending time together, getting to know each other without any pretenses, they start to fall for each other. It was so sweet.
I loved Eli so so so much! He is amazing. A super sweetheart and oh so wonderful with his Guinevere. Plus the sexy times were super freakin hot!! And Gwen is amazing as well. She is so kind and sweet and wonderful and they fit together perfectly. Through them being together you get a glimpse into their past relationships and man, Gwen's fiance leaving her was the best thing for her. He is not a good person and I am so happy she found someone to treat her right.
Now while I was reading I was expecting a bit more drama with the exes. There were some scenes where one of the exes would come back and say something to one of them and I thought okay, here we go, this is going to mess up Eli and Guinevere, but I was pleasantly surprised how both of these characters acted like adults and trusted each other. How they didn't let some petty nonsense or what happened to someone else affect them. Because they were solid right from the start. They built a friendship first and then became more. I loved these two. They were free to be exactly who they are because that is who they fell for. No trying to be different to make a better impression, just be who you are and that is what works. I loved that so much. This book was a great read and I can't wait to read more from this author.
