Broken Prince (The Royals #2) by Erin Watt
Available on
Synopsis:
From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.
THESE ROYALS WILL RUIN YOU...
Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.
What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.
Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.
SHE MIGHT BE RIGHT.
Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.
Review:
I enjoyed book one in this series and as it ended on a cliffhanger I really couldn't wait to start reaing Broken Prince. I mean I had to see what happened. Why did Reed do what he did and hurt Ella like that? I was sure that there would be a good reason for what happened. Only when it was revealed, when we see the ending from Reed's point of view, I rolled my eyes so hard. It was like really? This is what happened? Why in the world would you just shut down and do nothing in this situation? It didn't make a lot of sense to me and made most of this story just meh for me.
Ella ran off at the end of the last book, which is understandable. She is used to surviving on her own and she can't deal with her broken heart while living with the person who broke it. And Reed is going a bit crazy trying to find her. When he finally gets his wits together she is already gone. And things start falling apart. In the first book the brothers were united as one, but in this one everything crumbles. His brothers hate him for causing Ella to run off and leave them without so much as a goodbye.
Luckily Callum does his thing and is able to track Ella down and bring her back. Even if she doesn't want to come back. And then Reed tries to win her back, but he is so stupid about the whole thing. He is so worried that she will think poorly of him that he doesn't tell her everything so how could she trust him again? The whole situation was a bit ridiculous, but in a way that I didn't care for as much. I just...I know everything in this series thus far is a bit over the top and not really realistic in a Gossip Girl way, but the storyline in here didn't work that well for me. I'm hoping things get better in the next book, but we shall see. This ends with another cliffhanger and I am curious to see how everyone will get out of this situation.
