Review:

Oh The Lost Codex. I feel like I have been waiting for this book forever, and I only starting reading this series just as The Forgotten Mountain came out. As a side note you should have read the prior three books before this one. These are not stand alone stories. This is the continuation of the last book and picks up right where that one left off.

One of my favorite things about this series is Alice. I heart Alice so so much. She is by far my favorite female I have read. She is everything. She is so strong, such an amazing fighter, but she is also vulnerable at times. She is a lot like me. She will take you down if you hurt someone she cares about. It doesn't matter who you are you do not mess with her. She will be on the warpath until you are dealt with. And I get that. That is how I am. But she is also really vulnerable at times which makes her even stronger. There were parts in this book where she was talking about how her bones are like glass and they can soften and melt so easily, and they might, but that doesn't stop her. That makes her better. I love Alice in this series. She is such a strong character. I could have hated everyone else, everything else about this story and still loved it. That is how amazing she is. She is so strong but vulnerable. She takes charge and takes action, but thinks through her actions as well. She gets things done but is not reckless. You really don't want to mess with her. Amazing.

Now this story was just like the last one for me. So intense. Such a great ride. I swear I have read all of these books on the edge of my seat reading as fast as I can to see what happens next. There are so many twists and turns, so much to deal with, so many villains to try and defeat, but through it all there is always Alice and Finn. Her North Star. Her binary star. They have true love on their side and they will fight against whatever comes at them. When one is weak the other is there to support them. I love them so much. I really cannot say enough good things about this book. You should just go read it. Really if you have read the prior books why wouldn't you be excited for this one?

Through this story we do get a lot of answers. We find out more about the Librarian and I must say I enjoyed her. I had to do some reaseach on her story, but it was fun. And Victor. And Mary who I liked more in this story than in the prior ones. And all of the characters. My heart broke so many times for them for various reasons. I loved this story, I love this world the author created, I love how intense it all is, how much I get into the story. How I was reading most of it with my heart racing hoping everything would work out okay in the end. I am so glad someone chose The Collectors' Society for book club one month. Otherwise I might not have found this incredible series or this author who quickly became one of my favorites. I was so sad to think that this story was coming to an end. Really I hope that is not. That somehow we will get more. That there are more stories to tell. But if not I will have to settle for re-reading this one again and again and again.

Now I do have to add in one thing here. If I loved this story and charaters so much why is my rating not higher? Well, honestly, it is because of the ending. It was okay. It was good. I didn't hate it or anything, but...it was just good. I wish we could have gotten a little bit more. Just a little. But that is the way it is. I know most people loved it, and I enjoyed it, but not as much as the rest of the story.

So overall this was an amazing read. I love Alice so much. She is my favorite female character ever. And this world the author created is so interesting, so different, I wish it were real. Imagine being able to interact with your favorite book characters. It would be wonderful! Oh if only. So go. Grab a copy of The Lost Codex and read this thrilling final chapter in this series. You really don't want to miss it.
