Synopsis:

To Whom it May Concern,

It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soulmates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soulmates.

When I arrived to Edgewood, Wisconsin I didn’t plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

When I started senior year at my new school, I wasn’t prepared to call him Mr. Daniels, but sometimes life happens at the wrong time for all the right reasons.

Our love story wasn’t only about the physical connection.

It was about family. It was about loss. It was about being alive. It was silly. It was painful. It was mourning. It was laughter.

It was ours.

And for those reasons alone, I would never apologize for Loving Mr. Daniels.

Review:

Loving Mr. Daniels was another great read from this author. It is a story that I was iffy about starting, I mean a student/teacher romance? It just didn't seem like it would be my thing, but with this author it was. It is not an easy, fun romance, but sometimes there is just no denying who you fall for. Even if it is not right or would be looked down upon by others.

Loving Mr. Daniels features two people who both are going through a rough time. They both are facing loss and are a bit lost. They both are there for the other and their souls just call to each other. Neither of them expected to fall for anyone, especially not once they realize who they have to be, but they can't help it. Mr. Daniel Daniels was wonderful and a new teacher at school.

Ashlyn is new in town. She was shipped off by her mom after her twin, Gabby, died. Now she has to go live with the dad who never had anything to do with her life. The dad who has a new family and siblings she never knew about. A town where she doesn't know anyone and she is still hurting from losing Gabby. She is kind of a mess so she wasn't expecting to be drawn to Daniel when she sees him. When she hears him sing. When he is there and talking to her and making her feel just a little bit better. She definitely wasn't expecting him to be her teacher.

Because he is her teacher these two can't just date like they normally would. The school would look down upon that, especially Ashlyn's dad who is assistant principal of the school. They have a lot of ups and downs, but in the end it comes down to the fact that they just can't deny this pull that is there between them. It was sweet and heartbreaking at the same time because you know it will blow up eventually. No one can keep that secret forever so...you are just waiting for it and hoping it won't be too bad.

Along the way Ashlyn gets to know her new siblings more and makes some new friends. It is a struggle for both of them, Daniels doesn't like seeing her with other boys, but he can't really step in and say anything either. It was a rough ride, but I loved them together. I was rooting for them the whole time. And things are messy, not easy, other heartbreaking things happen and it was just a really great read. This author has a way with words that I love. She tells stories that draw you in and make you want to keep reading forever. Even though it was a love that wouldn't be allowed, it was still a great read. I loved how it ended up, what happened to resolve everything. It was a great read.
