Review:
I love these Hope Falls books. Almost all of them have characters I just love and stories I can't put down. Lucky Kiss was no different. It was such a great read.
Lucky is an MMA fighter. He has been training his whole life to beat this one competitor, and now that he has....he doesn't know what to do. MMA just isn't as important to him now. And, more worryingly, he doesn't seem to be interested in women either. Women always came first for him. He was always sleeping with the most beautiful girls then moving on to the next one. He was never that serious, never wanted to settle down, but that is just not working for him now. He moved to Hope Falls to be closer to his family, to his dad and brothers, and hoping to figure out what is wrong with him. Hoping to get that fire back that he once had.
Deanna is a firefighter. She is tough and looks out for herself. She doesn't need anyone else and she doesn't trust others easily. Her parents are not very good. Her mom was heartbroken when her father left, she used Deanna to help her own career, she was always on Deanna about how she looked and such. It just wasn't good. But her dad? That was even worse. She saw how athletes are. She spent a summer with her dad and she saw him and his teammates just go through the ladies and such. She told herself she won't date an athlete again, especially after a disastrous first boyfriend.
When Lucky and Deanna meet it was really cute. Deanna is trying to find Lucky the dog, and Lucky is annoyed that some girl is trying to track him down. They keep running into each other and they are both interested, but trying to stay away. Neither of them need the distraction right now. Of course that doesn't work. They decide to try and be together, but keep things casual. Just one day at a time. Oh it was sweet. They were great together.
Overall this was a really great read. I loved seeing Lucky and Deanna figure everything out. I loved that when Lucky found her then that was it for him. He was all in and was just amazing. If you have read and enjoyed the other books in this series you won't want to miss this one. If this is your first venture into Hope Falls it will be a good one. I just really enjoy these stories.
