Tyrant (King #2) by T.M. Frazier

Tyrant
Tyrant (KING Book 2)

Synopsis:

I. Remember. Everything.

Only now I wish I didn't.

When the fog is sucked away from my mind like smoke through a vacuum, the truth that has been beyond my reach for months finally reveals itself.

But the relief I thought I would feel never comes, and I'm more afraid now than I was the morning I woke up handcuffed in King's bed.

Because with the truth comes dark secrets I was never meant to know.

I will put the lives of those I love most at risk if I let on that my memory has returned, or if I seek help from the heavily tattooed felon who owns me body and soul.

I don't know if I'm strong enough to resist the magnetic pull toward King that grows stronger every day.

He's already saved me in more ways than one. Now it's my turn to do whatever it takes to save him.

Even if that means marrying someone else...

Review:

Man Tyrant gets dark. Not that King was all light and fluffy, it had its moments, but Tyrant...this author does not hold back. I loved that. Most books seem to not go that far, but this one is just like oh snap. We are doing thing. Crazy in a good way.

First off let me just say that I feel like the synopsis is a bit misleading. Yes, everything in the synopsis is in the story, but it is not at all what I expected the story to be based on that information. Really this is the story of Doe being sent back to her old life, with lots of surprises, trying to remember who she was, while King tries to tie up some loose ends.

At the end of King (if you haven't read that yet you really should before reading on) King had made a deal with Doe's dad to give up Doe in exchange for his daughter Max. He has been trying to do whatever he can to get Max back, but he is a felon and is not eligible to be her father for reals. Only when her dad shows up the second car is a cop who immediately arrests him. That is where King ends and Tyrant begins. Man this book. Things are not what they seem. King has been set up worse than he knew, and he has other bad guys coming after him for what happened in the last book. He has always counted on his friend Bear and Bear's MC guys to have his back even though he is not a member, but man those other guys in this story? If that is how they are, like King said, I wouldn't want to be a brother either. They have a lot of things to work out, things that don't always go as planned and things that get really bad at times, but King must fix this to get back to Doe. She is his everything and he needs her. Yes he gave her up, but that was never going to be permanent. She is his as he is hers.

For her part Doe is put back into her old life with all of these people she doesn't recognize. She gets more than a few surprises and when she starts to get her memories back things slowly unraveled. Man I was not expecting what happened. How Doe ended up losing her memory was just crazy! I thought I knew what was going on, what might have happened, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Every time you learn something new it was just like no way!! And everything that happened after she remembers....I will say this - Doe is one strong lady. She can put up with way more than I would ever be able to. She can have things happen and just work through it super quickly. She is not a victim, she refuses to be treated like one. She is amazing.

This story has a lot of surprises in store and man it was good. I stayed up way too late trying to finish it. I just couldn't put it down. I got to a point and it was bedtime and I thought oh, I will just finish this chapter, this is a good place to stop. Only by the end of that chapter it was on and I needed to see how everything worked out. Really dark, really intense, really crazy, but really a great read. Now I can't wait for Bear's story to come out. I want to see him happy since he has had a lot to deal with. Oh, one last thing, I am so so so glad we still get to see some Preppy in this book! He was my favorite character from the first one and he just is perfect at lightening things up just a little bit when they need it. I loved him. I wish we could have had a whole book about his story...oh well. Some things are just not meant to be.
