Phew Garrison's Creed was just hot hot hot! This story takes place a decade after Sweet Girl and man the character are even more amazing now! Nic is a CIA agent who can take care of herself and Cash...Cash is a super hot sniper guy. Oh the two of them back together? Amazing. Spoilers for Sweet Girl ahead.
Nic left her family and friends way back when when she had to fake her own death to save them. She got in trouble with her job, the mob was after her and was going to kill everyone she loved. She couldn't let that happen and she broke Cash's heart (and her own). She hasn't seen him or her family since. Not until they both are at the same place at the same time doing separate missions.
Cash loved Nic deeply. He wanted to be with her forever. On the day he got the ring he also got the news that she died in a car crash. Since then he joined the military and has been turning into this hardened badass. He works with her brother, his best friend, for the Titan Group and never wants a relationship like that again. If he can't be with Nic he doesn't really want to be with anyone.
Then Nic shows up on one of his missions and things get interesting. Oh it was so much fun. Cash is obviously angry, he has spent years thinking she was dead, years mourning the loss of her, and she has been alive and well this whole time. When they get put together in a mission, oh there is no stopping the inevitable. Nic was a bit annoying at times with her what does Cash want thing. She is so insecure still, so convinced everyone will hate her, that is why she never reached out to anyone when she could. Even when Cash shows her how much she still means to him she is still oh does he still like me? I was just like get over it girl. Of course he still loves you! You still love him! But it was fun. Lots of action, lots of hotness, lots of fun. Really a great read.
I loved watching Nic and Cash get back to where they were. I loved seeing them come together. Cash was so sweet with Nic. You can just see how much he cares once he gets over his hurt feelings. There is just something there between the two of them that cannot be denied. Of course there are issues, Cash is the type of guy who wants to protect those he loves. Nic wants to continue doing her job she loves so much that sometimes puts her in danger. They have a lot to work out, compromises to be made, but they were amazing together. Loved this story, loved these characters.
