Burn (Blood & Roses #3) by Callie Hart
Burn (Blood & Roses series Book 3)
Synopsis:
Sloane
I’m not safe.
I haven’t been safe for a while now.
I ran to Zeth for protection, but Zeth is in danger himself. With Julio on one side, and the leader of the Widow Makers MC on the other, the smartest thing to do would be to run. I’ve been running long enough, though.
This is the closest I’ve come to finding my sister in two years.
I can’t back down now.
Zeth
My right hand man’s being tortured in the basement.
The guy who tried to buy Sloane’s virginity is burning rubber in our direction.
My psychotic boss is on a mission to find me, and the girl I’m supposed to be keeping safe has landed herself right in the middle of all of this.
Just another breezy weekend in the Californian desert.
What could possibly go wrong in the next 48 hours?
Review:
*Please note you should have read the prior books before since this is a continuation of the same story*
Burn is part three of Sloane and Zeth's story and man it just keeps on going and getting better. This series is really great. Dark and sexy and I just loved it. I love Zeth so much. I love the things he is into, but I really love how he is with Sloane. I love that he always makes her acknowledge that she does want this. He makes her make up her mind about things without telling her what she should think about something. Towards the end there is a scene where Zeth does something that initially is upsetting to Sloane. She asks him if he had to do what he did, and instead of telling her yes, yes he did he makes her think about it and come to her own conclusion of if he did or not. I loved that. I mean if he would have just told her yes she wouldn't have believed him really. To make her figure out things for herself like that is something I have not seen in other books with similar type characters. It really works and it is a great way of dealing with the situation. I just love Zeth.
So this book opens with Zeth and Sloane trapped in Julio's compound. With no other choices Zeth has to pretend Sloane is just some girl he is sleeping with and man Sloane is something. She has a bit of a temper on her and her backbone of steel makes her say things without thinking. Oh it was fun, but nerve wracking at the same time. Not what I expected and these books just take you on a ride. Whenever I think I know where it is going, it doesn't. It always goes somewhere else and what I thought was going on is not correct. Loved it!
I will say ***slight spoiler*** you do learn more about what happened to Sloane's sister and man, that again is another shocker. Not at all what I expected! I need to read Rebel now asap. So now the tough decision, read Rebel or finish this series? Decisions decisions...
