Review:

Wow alright. So if you saw my review last week of Attraction you know I didn't enjoy the first part of this story as much as I had hoped. It was good, but not amazing for me. But Heat? Well Heat is the amazingness that I had wanted right from the start. I loved this section so much more and when I got to the end there was definitely a NO!! I need to know what happens!! moment. So yeah, I enjoyed this part a lot. It helped me understand Kaitlyn and why she is the way she is and such which I needed. I needed to see why she was so rigid and afraid of like everything. I needed to know her better. I finally had the oh, okay, this is why she is doing x, y and z. Now it all makes sense and is not as annoying as before. Really I think if I went back and re-read the first part now, after reading this part, I would enjoy it more.

Heat picks up where the first part left off. Martin is looking for Kaitlyn at the party and she is hidden away reading. I loved how Martin pushes Kaitlyn in this part. How he calls her out on all of her stupid things she does. How he tries to get her to be passionate about something, anything. It really made Kaitlyn start questioning her beliefs and how she thinks things are. I really don't like a lot of Kaitlyn's thoughts on how she shouldn't be desirable and stuff, but Martin challenges those thoughts. It is like she goes a step too far for me and he helps even her out some. There is definitely a give and take. Seeing why she does what she does and where she gets the ideas from helped me like her more. This section definitely does have more heat, but to me it was all about getting to know the characters more and challenging them to be more, to think and challenge their beliefs. I loved that.

You also get to meet some of Martin's family in this section and man are they terrible. No wonder he doesn't trust people or is angry with people a lot of the time. I would be too if I had to deal with them. You just feel bad for him and everything he must have gone through when he was younger. It ends in a cliffhanger and I just cannot wait to read the next section! I need more!! Also I hope we get to know why Sam is being odd. We shall see. Part 3, Capture, cannot come soon enough!
