Jaxon Trent is the worst kind of temptation and exactly what K.C. was supposed to stay away from in high school. But he never forgot her. She was the one girl who wouldn’t give him the time of day and the only one to ever say no. Fate has brought K.C. back into his life—except what he thought was a great twist of luck turns out to be too close for comfort. As the bond between them grows, he discovers that convincing K.C. to get out from her mother’s shadow is hard, but revealing the darkest parts of his soul is nearly impossible.…

Review:

Happy Valentine's Day! I really love celebrating holidays and this one is no different. I keep it cheesy, but it is fun regardless. Today I have for you a great Valentine's day read - Falling Away. Really a great story and you can't help but fall a little bit in love with these characters.

Oh Jax. I had forgotten about you until I read Rival the other day and I couldn't wait to get my hands on your story. You always intrigued me and I wanted to know more about you. You didn't let me down. Falling Away was so great. I loved it!

Jax is Jared's younger brother, the younger brother that lived with their dad and had lots of terrible things happen to him. He kind of has this don't mess with me vibe going on, but he has lots of people he hangs out with and such. He is like the king of their small town. He seems like a great guy even if he does some not so legal things. I just really liked him.

K.C./Juliet has issues. I don't remember her much from the first book, but I remember not liking her that much. Boy, she didn't have things as terrible as Jax growing up, but she had her own nightmare to deal with. When you start to learn exactly what her life was like it is just like man you and Jax are perfect for each other!! When this story starts K.C. is still this weak girl who doesn't even know herself. She has always been drawn to Jax, but stayed away. She had a boyfriend who cheated on her in high school and she has stayed with him way too long because...well because she is a weak person. Even when she was with her boyfriend she was still drawn to Jax, but she stays with the jerk instead. She goes off to college and gets herself in some trouble when her relationship ends so now she is back home to do her community service and hoping to just lay low for a bit.

From the first moment Jax saw K.C. he was drawn to her. When she comes back to town he still is, but she is still so weak he can't really deal with it. He pushes her and pushes her and helps make her a better person in his way. Whenever they are around each other they get into these fights and he calls her gutless and things like that which just make her angry. They are true though, and that probably angers her the most. She really has to learn who she is and what she actually wants from life. She needs to learn to let go and do what she wants. She has never really done this and she really doesn't even know who she is at all. It was great. Watching the two of them help each other and come together...amazing.

There are some issues that Jax has to work through as well before they can be together. He still has the unworthy/dirty/not good thing that he used to be told when he was a boy. He doesn't think he is really worthy of anyone so he has things to figure out. They both are just perfect for each other and they both manage to in their own way help the other person and it was great. I loved Jax so much and Juliet was just perfect for him. It is a bumpy ride, but oh so worth it. Really a great read.
