Review:
I have been reading these Hope Falls books out of order. I downloaded a bunch of them and have just been reading them in whatever order I see them on my Kindle. When I started reading Sweet Reunion I quickly realized that it must be the first book. There is a lot of info on the layout of the town and who everyone is and things like that. I was glad that this stuff is not so prevalent in the other books in the series.
Amanda has just lost her father, her family, the only person she really has left. He died suddenly in an accident and she is trying to get everything in order and deal with it all. She is seeing a guy, but he is pretty terrible. He gets annoyed when she cries or has a hard time or anything like that. It was just like why is Amanda with this guy? Everyone can see he is terrible, but she has been with him for two years!
Justin hasn't been back to Hope Falls for ten years. Ten years ago Amanda, Amanda who he loved, threw herself at him. She loved him too, but she was too young. He is a few years older than her so he pushed her away, and by the next morning he was gone. He broke Amanda's heart, but when he shows up again there is still something there. He has never forgotten Amanda. He has thought of her every day since he left, and now that he is back, now that it seems like Amanda might still like him he is determined to try and win her over. He wants to finally be with her, to have the life he could have had if things had been different ten years ago.
Amanda still loves Justin, but she isn't sure she can trust him to stay. I mean he did leave in the middle of the night ten years ago. That broke her, that almost destroyed her, and she doesn't think she would be able to deal with him leaving again. That and she does have a boyfriend she keeps forgetting about. There is more of a story there with the boyfriend, a bit of intrigue, but it is really just the story of Amanda and Justin and the Fabulous Four reuniting. It definitely sets up the next few stories for the Fabulous Four to all find love. I am excited to read more!
