Until The End (Sea Breeze #9) by Abbi Glines

Until the End (Sea Breeze)

Synopsis:

The backstory that fans have been clamoring for—how Rock and Trisha fell in love—is the final installment in the Sea Breeze series from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines. And don’t miss the sizzling Epilogue, where Abbi wraps up all the Sea Breeze couples’ stories!

Trisha Corbin always knew how to hide a bruise. With her momma’s boyfriends unable to keep their hands off of her, she had no choice. And as long as it meant the guys wouldn’t go near her little brother, Krit, it was worth it. But her days of dreaming that Prince Charming would ever come rescue her are far, far in the past.

Rock Taylor always had a plan. Through football, he would rise above the life he was born into. A full ride to play for a major college team was within his reach—assuming he didn’t let anything get in his way. But scoring a date with the hottest girl in Sea Breeze was proving harder than expected. Trisha Corbin was every man’s walking fantasy, and she wouldn’t even glance his way.

When Rock finally does get Trisha in his truck, it isn’t for a date. It’s because he picks her up on the side of the road, beaten and bruised and walking to the local hospital. Before Rock knows it, football is no longer his life. Trisha Corbin is. And he’ll do anything to save her. And keep her.

In addition to Rock and Trisha’s love story, this special novel contains the wrap-up stories of all your favorite Sea Breeze couples: Sadie and Jax, Marcus and Low, Cage and Eva, Preston and Amanda, Jess and Jason, Krit and Blythe, and Dewayne and Sienna.

Review:

When I saw that Trisha and Rock's story was going to be the last book in the Sea Breeze series I was just kind of eh. I didn't really care that much. Trisha and Rock have just always  been there in the other stories and they were never my favorite so...then when I read a teaser for Until the End I changed my mind. I couldn't wait for it to come out so I could read their story. Now I think Trisha and Rock are my favorite couple from this series. I loved their story, loved them, it was great.

Trisha and Rock meet in high school. Rock is a popular guy and always has girls hanging all over him. He is one of the players who sleeps around and all the girls want. All except Trisha. Well that is not really true, Trisha does want Rock, but she doesn't think she can have him for real. She does not have a good home life, is always beaten trying to protect her younger brother, so she has enough drama to deal with without adding in a boy.

From the first time they saw each other they both wanted more. Rock tried, but when Trisha blew him off he tried to just get over it. The problem? He can't. After a year of Trisha ignoring him Rock is now going to do whatever he can to get Trisha to at least talk to him. Friends if he has to at least until he can try and work on more. It was great watching the first parts of this story. I loved how Rock was just there for her and Krit. Trisha doesn't want him around as Rock won't save them, but he does. It was just amazing to read.

My issue with the story? It was too short! It just skipped to years later at one point and I was like wait! What happened in that time? I just...I wanted more. I loved these characters so much I wanted to see them really become that stable couple. I just wish I could have had more of their story. I loved them.

Also included is a little short from each of the other couples in the series. I didn't like a lot of them where there was just drama for drama sake. Like maybe he/she cheated on her/him! And then it is just easily resolved. Or peoples insecurities just annoyed me. I did like how Marcus and Low felt like a continuation from their story.  Dewayne and Sienna was my favorite one. I love their short as they are just so cute! Then the very end with Bliss, the last line - woah. So will there be more stories with the younger generation in the future? I suppose we shall see.
