One More Chance (Rosemary Beach #7, Chance #2) by Abbi Glines

One More Chance: A Rosemary Beach Novel (The Rosemary Beach Book 7)

Synopsis:

Grant Carter did everything in his power to convince Harlow Manning that he was a good guy. More than a smooth-talker and someone she could trust. He had to overcome his reputation as a playboy, and his history with Harlow's half-sister, Nan, a woman with a reputation of her own.

Harlow had taken the chance, falling hard and fast for the guy who thrilled her with his all-consuming desire. After a lifetime of avoiding bad boys like Grant, she had opened herself to the possibilities of love...

But a life-changing secret has torn them apart, and now Grant and Harlow must decide if they have enough fight to make it work - or if the pain of betrayal has permanently destroyed their future.

Review:

I was so excited for One More Chance. I love Grant. Have ever since I first read him in Rush's story. He is my favorite Abbi Glines guy. Not sure why exactly, but I love him. When I read Take A Chance I was just like YES! Grant's story! Finally!! Only I didn't realize it was a two parter. It seemed to take forever for the rest of his story to be release, but it is finally here!

When I started this story I hated Harlow. Hated how she was all I am not ready to tell Grant he is going to be a dad. Hated how pathetic she was being and how she was making decisions for him. She was all well what happened when she left and what he said and did. Well I kept going back and re-reading the end of the last book and he didn't really say or do anything terrible. He reacted to finding out some bad news that she purposely hid from him. At the same time he was just like give me a minute to process this, it is a lot to take in. Nothing super terrible. So I didn't get it. I was getting so frustrated with her. Grant's phone calls and passages were so heartbreaking. He loves her, just wants to hear her voice and know she is okay, and she just keeps letting him suffer. Sure she has a lot to process as well, but she needed to tell him she was pregnant. He deserved to know, but she kept holding off. I wonder if someone else wouldn't have told him when she would have finally done so. When she had the baby and was fine? A month before? Whenever it was too late to abort it? When would she have? She was so frustrating!

Grant was a mess at the start of the book. When he finds out what is going on he is still a mess, but at least he has Harlow. At least he can try and have some control over the situation. At least he can breath again having her beside him. He was great with her and even though he didn't agree with her decision he never really pushed her to do what she didn't want to. I love him so much.

So most of the story is just Harlow being pregnant. It wasn't my favorite as...well it just wasn't. I got it, but a whole book of she might die because of her heart! was a bit much for me. I did almost cry towards the end a few times as well how could you not? Some of the scenes were just heartbreaking and beautiful and yeah. Harlow did get better as the book progressed, but she is not my favorite female in the group. Still a great read and I am glad to see Grant get his happy ending.
